A custom-made scenario, with a single aircraft and a handful of AAA defenses in the Carpiquet Airfield. A far cry from any real life situation, no claims made for a history lesson. |

DCS Normandy 1944 - Recon at the Carpiquet Airfield
A short mission in the DCS: Spitfire LF Mk. IX, just to kick the tires.
Heads up: a 50% sale for many aircraft is going on now at DCS. This is where I grabbed my Spitfire today.

Maneuver Warfare: A Wargamer's Notebook - Schwerpunkt - An Argentine Commando Fire Team and the Simplest Focus of Effort
Montoneros de mierda, the young Lieutenant from the 602 Commando Company thought as he pondered through his limited options. Second day of Operation Suncho Huayco and the progress is way too short of expectations. Originally intended to dismantle a vast network of drug traffickers, the operation has run into a nasty surprise: leftist guerrillas with the willingness to come back from their dubious past, have been armed to the teeth by the bottomless cash coffers of the criminal cartels.

DCS Bf-109 K4 - How to Take Off
Topic for today: taking off in the Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst. This is from a custom-made scenario played in DCS World Alpha, with the Normandy map. The take offs shown in this post are from the Carpiquet airfield.
The K, as many of the other variants, had a powerful engine (a 1,800-hp DB 605 D), a narrow landing gear plus a small tailfin and rudder. This particular combo may put you virtual pilots in a pickle during take offs. I know it did for me.
In a clear day like this and in a clean configuration, we fly. |

CMANO - To Kill a Kilo
Inspired by an scenario from other old but great naval simulation, this custom scenario has me hunting for two Iranian Project 877 Kilo class diesel submarines. The waters are shallow -which favors the Iranians- and the location is the Strait of Hormuz.
I'm in command of a single nuclear submarine, Los Angeles class. |

Steel Beasts ProPE v4.019 - One Railroad Crossing at Hameln
This mission is more about practicing the deployment and use of the Milan ATGM launcher.
One T-72 Soviet tank was unfortunate enough to throw his tracks at a railroad crossing. His turret drive is also damaged from previous combat (the crew can still crank the turret manually, which is a slow process).

Whatever Happened to HistWar Napoleon
Aimed to be a legend but caught in an eternal loop of development, the HistWar franchise is still alive. Sorta.

Steel Division Normandy 1944 - Gameplay Video and Commentary
Aren't you dying to see gameplay footage of your old rusty host playing at turtle speed? :)
Well, I am not getting any younger, so that's all I have for now.
On a serious note, if you have not played Steel Division, please take a look at the video. Sorry about the voice audio being so low, I will fix that in later videos.
Cheers,
